In silence, you leave the many to listen to the One.

Bonhoeffer writes, "Real silence, real stillness, really holding one's tongue comes only as the sober consequences of spiritual stillness"...Only when we learn to be truly silent are we able to speak the word that is needed when it is needed.
...Catherine de Haeck Doherty writes, " All in me is silent and...I am immersed in the silence of God." It is in solitude that we come to experience the "silence of God" and so receive the inner silence that is the craving of our hearts.
Richard Foster
~
Silence your body to listen to your words.
Silence your tongue to listen to your thoughts.
Silence your thoughts to listen to your heart beating.
Silence your heart to listen to your spirit.
Silence your spirit to listen to His Spirit.
In silence, you leave the many to listen to the One.

~
Where shall the world be found, where will the word resound?
Not here, there is not enough silence.
T.S. Eliot
~

"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10
